Today is St David's Day - the Welsh National Holiday. It was difficult to come up with only 10 things. We could do one on food alone!
Welsh Rugby Union is the national sport and they're a pretty good team. Catch them on March 10 playing Ireland in the Six Nations Championship.

There is plenty of beautiful countryside in Wales to discover and loose yourself in. From the high peaks of Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons to the coastal shores and winding river valleys there is much to see and do.
Music in Wales is part of the national identity and is often known as the Land of Song. Music was the best way for passing down stories and history. The best known singers are the male voice choirs.

Welsh is a Celtic language. It has no K, Q, V or Z in it's alphabet. Though they seem to have plenty of Y's and X's!

There is so much good Welsh food we need to have another top 10 for food alone. Though they are known for their Welsh cakes, Bara Brith, Welsh lamb. Glamorgan Sausage and Welsh Rarebit (not rabbit please)
DOCTOR WHO EXPERIENCE
It only makes sense to find the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff where the anomaly is and near the studios where it is filmed. But you better get there soon because it's scheduled to close this summer!

This Italian style village was built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 and is a wonderful and delightful tourist attraction these days. It's also well-known for being the location for the Prisoner TV series and high quality china. The pottery factory of Portmeirion (Stoke-on Trent) was founded by his daughter Susan Williams-Ellis in the 1960s.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch (lovingly known as LlanfairPG) is the name of a town in North Wales which translates as “The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio’s of the red cave”. It is believed to be the longest place name in the world. There's a pretty good factory outlet there too.
What's the best thing about any place! The people.
Happy St David's Day - March 1
