British Faire & Tea FAQs

Q:  Where is the Abdallah Shrine Temple?

A:  5300 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas

 

Q:  Is there an admission charge?

A:  Yes.  Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under.  The Tea is $35 and that price includes free admission.  Tea in a Box is $30 with admission included.  For attendees only, purchase your entry at the front door when you arrive.  CASH ONLY.  An ATM is located in the lobby.

Q:  Where can I park? 
A:  There are plenty of parking spots at the Abdallah Shrine Temple on Metcalf.  A limited number of spots are available around the main building including disabled parking.  The larger lot by the Cargill office is available for all patrons.  There is also a 3rd lower lot on the other side of 53rd Street.  If needed, you can drop people off at the front door and park in the lower lot.    

 

 

Q:  How soon do the doors open?  
​A:  The doors may be open for vendors and volunteers, but you will not be able to enter the event until 10:00 am


​Q:  What is included in the Tea? 
​A:  Our tea may include 2 Finger Sandwiches, Coronation Chicken, Sausage Roll, Shortbread, Scone & Jam, Mini Lavender Cake, a Sweet, and Lashings of Tea.

Q:  What if I have a food allergy?  

​A:  Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate any special requirements at this time.


​Q:  What times are the Teas?
​A:  Seatings for the teas are at 11:00 / 12:15 / 1:30

 

Q:  Can I buy a ticket to the Faire only,  in advance?  

​A:  Tickets for the Faire are sold at the door on the day of the event.  Cash Only.  


​Q:  Can I reserve a time for the Tea?  

A: Link for online ticketing on Eventbrite - HERE!  Tickets will be available on Eventbrite on September 3, 2024 at 6:00 am.  Tickets will ONLY be available online for the Sit Down Tea.

Q:  How much is the tea and tea in a box and do you offer a child discount?
​A:  The tea is $35 and includes free admission.  Tea in a Box is $30 and includes free admission.  Since this is a fundraiser and seating/boxes are limited we are unable to offer any discounts.

​

Q:  What forms of payment do you accept?  
​A:  Cash Only at the front door.  Many of our vendors accept cash, so please bring plenty but some vendors may accept credit cards as well. ​

 

Q:  Are there handicapped accommodations?  
​A:  There is handicapped parking available and a lift (elevator) to take you to the tea.  

​

​Q:  Is there Entertainment?
​A:  There is entertainment throughout the day which includes dancers, musicians, and Renaissance Royalty.


Q:  What is the Entertainment schedule?

​A:  The schedule will be posted on the website as soon as it is available,
which is usually a few weeks before the event.  

​

Q:  Who are the vendors?
​A:  Information on vendors will be posted on our website as it becomes available.  


​Q:  Is this a fundraising event?
​A:  The British Faire is a fundraising event for the Daughters of the British Empire. 
Proceeds go to the British Home and local charities.  

​

​Q:  Are Dogs Allowed?

A:  Only service dogs are allowed.
