Local Kansas Chapters
Bard of Avon chapter started in 1964. A small Chapter of women of different ages and backgrounds, we meet on the third Wednesday of the month, typically at restaurants and at members homes. We also meet socially, several times a year for outings. We enjoy our spring and fall fundraisers, workshops and the Faire. We donate to the British Home and local women's shelters and charities.
Bess of Hardwicke Chapter was founded in 2009 and covers the Lawrence and Topeka, Kansas area. Our group has nearly doubled since then. We meet on the third Sunday of the month.
Lady Nancy Astor
Lady Nancy Astor Chapter was founded in 1994. We meet on the third Sunday afternoon each month. Currently we have 20 members from all walks of life; retirees, homemakers, teachers, lawyers and other professional women. We enjoy each other’s company and always have a good turnout at DBE social events during the year. We believe raising funds for the Home should be fun and we endeavor to make it so. Royal Arms
Magna Carta
Magna Carta chapter was founded in 1976. We meet the third Saturday of the month at the Leawood Pioneer Library. Our members are from all parts of the Kansas City Metropolitan area with a larger number being from the south east area of the city but we welcome ladies from any area of the city. We hold our annual spring Shakespeare Tea with the Royal Arms Chapter and several other organizations. In the fall we participate in the Annual British Faire with all the other DBE chapters. We support the British Home and local charities including Rose Brooks and the Happy Bottoms Diaper Program through the money we raise during the year.
Somerset House
The Royal Arms Chapter was chartered in 1973 and meets on the second Wednesday at 6:30 pm of every month at a member's home.
Somerset House is the newest chapter in the DBE and meets on the third Wednesday evening of the month. We have 18 ladies in our group at present, with most of us living on the north side of the river, both in Kansas and Missouri.
